Once again, thanks for the organics. Although the tubs can get a little smelly in the heat, getting organics out of our waste stream is an important recycling tool. The amount of organics continues to increase. Keep up the good work.
If you have books that you think someone else might enjoy, they can be put in our exchange area on the dock. If you want to dispose of either soft or hardcover books, they should go into our mixed paper bin. Remember, no plastic bags of any kind in our recycling containers.
Plastic recycling is still a problem for us at the station. We are constantly switching plastics from one container to the other or taking out materials that don’t even belong in these containers. Please try to check those numbers and get plastic items in the proper bins.
Electronics is another area where people can get confused. If you have a question about where to put an electronic item, please see one of us. Just so you know, Brandon is our expert on electronics.
Don’t forget, Freon items like dehumidifiers, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and water coolers require a $10 recycling fee. Please don’t just drop these off without seeing us.
