We had another very busy Saturday at the transfer station. I have two suggestions that will help to reduce the length of the line that develops on Saturdays.
1. If you have a heavily loaded truck or trailer of trash to empty, I encourage you to come in early in the morning. We are usually not very busy at that time.
2. Although I realize many of you like to look at the items in our swap area, please dispose of your trash as quickly as you can, then move your vehicle to another location and come back and check out the swap area. This in itself will cut down on the line of traffic.
Spring cleaning is definitely in high gear, so please remember to try to separate materials for easier disposal. This includes materials that go down back to our mulch and brush piles. Please don’t mix mulching material and brush together. Putting brush into our mulch pile spoils the quality of the final product.
I’m sure you are all aware of the positive effects of reusing and recycling. Not only is it good for our environment, but in the long run it saves tax dollars. Thanks to all of you that continue to recycle. I hope more of you will decide to participate in this important process.
