I know it’s summer, it is hot, sometimes humid, but could we all try to stay cool at the transfer station? We have had an unusual amount of unpleasant behavior recently at the station.
Tuesdays and Saturdays are very busy days. If you are uncomfortable with a very busy station, perhaps Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday may be better days for you to visit us. Tooting horns, yelling at someone, or breaking rules because you’re in a hurry does not seem to help the situation.
When an employee speaks to you about stop signs, your excess speed, or something else that needs attention, they are just doing their job. Being unpleasant to them just doesn’t seem to be the answer.
As the manager of the station, I do not feel the employees need to be given a hard time for doing their job. We try to make the station a clean, safe, and friendly place for our customers. We will continue to do our best to serve our customers as effectively as we can.
Remember: the only plastics we take for recycling are #2 and rigid plastics. All other plastics, except for returnable plastic bottles, must go in the trash.
Thanks again to all of our neighbors who continue to pick up trash on the sides of our roads. I can’t imagine what a mess it would be without them.
