Hello, friends and neighbors!
I hope you all had the opportunity over the holidays to do something that made you happy. Maybe you spent time with family and friends whom you love. Maybe you received a fun gift from someone or were delighted by a recipient’s reaction to your gift. Maybe you ate some delicious goodies or heard some beautiful music. Maybe you had some quiet time to go on a hike in the woods. Whatever ensued, I hope it was uplifting. It is time to bid adieu to the year, and hope that 2018 will bring more health and happiness to everyone.
In recognition of Christmas, Westport’s town office will be closed Dec. 22-26. On Thursday, Dec. 28, the town office will hold its regular hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also, the staff at the town office decided to forgo a Christmas rendezvous and this year hold a potluck party to welcome in the new year. Mark your calendars for Thursday, Jan. 11 at 4:30 p.m. All Westporters are invited to stop by, catch up, and exchange wishes for a prosperous new year. It would be great if guests brought food to share, but it is also great if they just bring themselves. Hope to see you there!
Did you know Westport Island has a Facebook page? Recently a number of folks have lost or found cats on the island and have posted photos to help others identify said felines if they are found. If you have a pet or just want to share information with other islanders, you may want to consider joining the group.
