As Thanksgiving approaches, we like to reflect on what we are thankful for as a newspaper.
We are thankful for the loyalty of our readers and advertisers and the dedication of our staff. Without any one of these three groups, we would not exist.
From a newsroom perspective, we are thankful for the many government officials who answer our questions and who value the role of a free and independent press in local government.
We are thankful for the First Amendment and laws like Maine’s Freedom of Access Act, which protect this role against those who might value it less.
We are thankful for the privilege to work in a beautiful part of the world: Lincoln County in general and the shore of Great Salt Bay in particular.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at The Lincoln County News.
