To the Editor:
Although there is a nice wide ramp at the Newcastle Post Office, it is not entirely or easily accessible for those who are wheelchair-bound.
The few inches of vertical distance between the ramp and the doorway make it difficult for even an electric chair. I know of one handicapped person who keeps getting his back wheels stuck, and has requested more than once to have the situation remedied, but to no avail, even though promises have been made.
It looks to me like it would be a pretty minor repair without a whole lot of cost. Perhaps if a few more good folks would mention this to the postmaster next time they get their mail at the Newcastle Post Office, the job would get done. Thanks.
