To the Editor:
For many parents, 2009 was a year in which they watched good things happening in the lives of their children. Our schools are helping students eat healthier foods. There’s greater opportunity for children to be engaged in sports, music, dance or arts. Social events and networking keeps them connected their friends.
As we head into 2010, there’s one more area of children’s lives that I hope parents will see good things happening in. Our communities have done an excellent job in caring for our children’s health, diet, exercise and social skills but one major area of our children’s lives is easily neglected: their spiritual development.
Pathway Vineyard Church of Damariscotta would like to partner with parents in our communities who would like to see their children begin to understand this important part of their life.
Many young parents went to Sunday School themselves while growing up and have meant to one day see their own children go as well. But life, being what it is, sometimes causes good intentions to be set aside.
Maybe others of you are just now considering what it would mean for your children to learn about God’s love for them in today’s challenging world.
It’s a new year. Make a fresh start for your children.
Pathway Vineyard Church meets at Great Salt Bay School (on Bus. Rt. 1 in Damariscotta), 10 a.m. on Sundays, and our teaching staff would love to help you in addressing this important topic in the life of a child.
