To the Editor:
I would like to report a random act of kindness.
Many years ago my husband and I placed a stone bench at the end of our driveway as a way of preventing those leaving our house from “cutting the corner.”
The bench was made using two granite blocks with a long granite foundation stone to form a seat. Last winter, in one of the big storms, the plow knocked the seat off the cubes. Originally my husband used a truck, a pry bar, a come-along and physics to move the bench into place. I could not manage the task alone.
Imagine my delight one morning in June when I discovered that the seat was once more securely on the blocks. Some kind and thoughtful person had come to my rescue.
I would like to say to them “Thank you so much for your wonderful act of kindness.”
