To the Editor:
The Damariscotta-Newcastle Lions’ Club is very lucky to have Charlie Pichette as one of its members. In his years as a member of the club, Charlie has served with distinction and great dedication in helping his club and the surrounding communities with his untiring effort in performing many kind and humanitarian acts, especially the building of wheelchair ramps and for many deserving and disabled citizens in the area.
We of the Waldoboro Lions have been fortunate to be asked by Charlie to help with some of these projects. We have been greatly impressed by his thoroughness, kindness, professionalism, and great concern for the well being of others.
Charlie truly gives of himself in a big way. He genuinely cares for others and is willing to spend his time and energy in doing for others.
It gives us Lions of Waldoboro an example to follow in our living up to the Lions’ motto- “We serve”.
The surrounding communities of this area and many citizens have benefited from Charlie’s generosity and Charlie is an outstanding Lion and fellow human being, who deserves recognition and thanks for what he has done in the past few years.
Charlie, we of the Waldoboro Lions want to thank you for allowing us to be your friend and fellow wheelchair partners.
We understand that those people that you have helped also wish you the best, as we do.
