To the Editor:
As a member of the Edgecomb Fire Department and current Asst. Chief I am the one used to responding to people in need of help but in the early hours of Fri., July 3, I found myself in need of help.
I was responding to an incident when I found myself and the truck I was in caught up in a washout that had accrued due to the heavy rain we were having. Once the truck had come to a stop I knew I was hurt. I immediately called for help and it came.
I would like to thank the people that helped and all of the departments and agencies that had to redirect from the scene they were called to.
Thank you to the Newcastle and Damariscotta fire departments, to CLC ambulance and the LCSO for all your assistance and to the Lincoln County Communications for their support and calmness on what was a hectic night.
Thank you to Chief Roy Potter and all the members of EFD for your continued support.
Asst. Chief Steven Ward, Edgecomb Fire Dept.
