To the Editor:
I cannot support RSU 12. I do not like to just pay and have no say. It seems like the RSU thinks we all have the capacity to pay more taxes. Well, we do not have the capacity to pay more taxes!
We do have options. Yes, it will cost us to get out but I truly believe that we can recoup that cost quickly. We need to be proactive and we need to increase our high school enrollment. We do have the capacity to take on more students. In the years before the RSU, Wiscasset High School had more students and a reputation of being a preferred school of choice.
Let’s get out of the RSU system and put our efforts into recruiting more high school students. If you are good at what you do, you will be successful.
I want our property back. This property is going to increase in value over time, but the only way we benefit is if it is our property.
We pay more money to the RSU than most towns. We make less money than most of the towns. I still cannot get over how we voted down the budget four times and the RSU did not care. Do you call that working together? Let’s get out of the RSU12 and cut our losses.
You vote for someone or something because you believe in someone or something not because it is the lesser of two evils.
