To the Editor:
It’s always a pleasure to write to you after a blood drive, thanking you for your support. We truly appreciate your announcing this three-times-a-year event and without a doubt, the publicity we receive in your newspaper makes a difference.
Today we are pleased to inform you that during the Sept. 18 blood drive conducted by the American Red Cross at the Second Congregational Church in Newcastle, 59 units of blood were donated. Recognizing that each unit has the possibility of helping as many as three individuals to recover from an operation, accident or other illness, 177 persons may now be on their way to good health. We thank the donors for their caring and generous contributions, and the many people who contribute time and energy to our blood drive.
The next drive will be in February. The date hasn’t been determined as yet, but you’ll all be notified in time by The Lincoln County News. We hope to see you then.
