To the Editor:
I urge every Newcastle resident to come to as many meetings of the “Community Conversation” as they can.
This is your opportunity to have your ideas and concerns incorporated in the future plans of Newcastle. About 380 residences are predicted to come to our town in the next 30 years or so. Where will they go? Will they overburden our roads and schools?
Will Rt. 1 be able to handle the traffic they and similar growth in nearby towns will produce?
Can we channel development to places that disrupt our community less than other places?
Will our woods, lake and shorelines suffer from too much use? Will our network of roads be able to accommodate the development that will inevitably come?
Come and help us work out solutions to the problems that will come someday. Get one of the historic post cards being distributed and come to the first session on Tues., Oct. 19, 6:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Academy Dinning Commons.
