To the Editor:
I want to take the time to thank Barb Bowers, the Board of the Lincoln Theater and those that generously contributed in order to bring the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD to Damariscotta.
I am delighted to see this beautiful art form in our own area and, may I add, within the reach of many household budgets.
This past Saturday the theater was filled with about 200 people who came to watch “Madame Butterfly.” The audience was transfixed and all you could hear were the sounds of tears being shed.
During the afternoon I don’t think anyone had their mind on the economy. We were far away. There are two more shows this season, “The Sleep Walker” and “Cinderella.” Hope to see you there.
