To the Editor:
This Thanksgiving our family is especially grateful. We want to thank the Alna Fire Department and Wiscasset Ambulance Service, particularly first responders Mike Trask, Marcie Lovejoy, and Herman Lovejoy. These volunteers made a great impact in our lives on Aug. 24 by responding to a life threatening situation with calm professionalism.
Thanks also to friends and neighbors in Alna and Lincoln County who gave of themselves and their time, particularly members of Water of Life Lutheran Church in Newcastle. The names are numerous, but we hope you know who you are and how much we appreciate you and all you’ve done.
You brought meals, drove May and baby Lydia to doctors’ appointments, and ran errands. You came and helped with the baby, so May could get some much needed rest, and you kept us in your prayers.
We are fortunate to live in such a caring and supportive community.
