To the editor:
My name is Scott Elliot, and I am a musician who has been lucky enough to play music in Lincoln County at least once a week for the past three or four years. Six weeks ago, I had bypass surgery on my heart. Today, I hiked 2 miles at Dodge Point in Edgecomb. I am thankful for the medical professionals who surely saved my life. It is nothing short of amazing, what doctors and nurses are currently capable of.
But I am writing this open letter to the good people of the Damariscotta area. I was profoundly moved by the show of support and love which I witnessed and felt on July 6 at the benefit concert for my family, which was held at Schooner Landing.
I am completely overwhelmed by your caring generosity. I also feel blessed to count many of you as my friends. To quote my friend, Larry Sidelinger, “I am very proud to say that I am a member of this community.” Thanks for supporting the arts and live music.
Thanks again, from the bottom of my 100 percent functional heart!
Scott Elliot
