To the Editor:
The letter that Lisa Hunt wrote, “Enough is Enough,” (LCN, 7/28/11, Page 4) hit the nail on the head. It seems that Washington has become so terribly irresponsible and the incompetent people presently running the House and Senate have no idea that they are playing/talking about other people’s income.
I’d like to know, how do these people get elected into office? Don’t they realize the problems we are experiencing in our country, especially in the State of Maine? People need jobs to support their families and with the higher prices at the pump, grocery stores, heating their homes in the winter months, we cannot afford to raise taxes.
These bureaucrats are so eager to raise taxes, lose our AAA rating and increase spending while we sit and listen to their opinions rattle off on the TV, it scares me and everyone in the State of Maine to death. John and Bob Reny wrote a letter to the editor a few weeks back. They are trying to open new stores so they can employ more people and get the economy headed in the right direction.
I believe there are others that would like to do the same thing but our government is not permitting this to happen at this time.
What about our President? What is he doing about the debt problem? He likes to campaign while giving these worthless speeches and repeat his thoughts on spending other people’s money. Give me a break!
Just remember this summer when you vote the next time around, think about those (and that’s everyone) suffering with the high unemployment numbers and the amount of government spending that is going on in Washington, D.C.
