To the Editor:
I read in the paper last week that over in Waldoboro the Rev. Mr. Murphy is retiring. I met him when I was distributing low-energy light bulbs to the food bank he has headed all these years.
I was in awe of his good spirits, energy and dedication to the program there. He was very proud of the folks in the area who contribute to the facility. He said rarely, if ever, has he had to go to the Auburn center to replenish his shelves because local people and businesses are so generous.
May he have good health and years of contentment to enrich his next journey down Life’s path. Peace…and long life to you, Pastor.
