To the Editor:
Please publish this letter as an acknowledgement of the Weymouth House’s beautiful work of providing inexpensive homemade meals to the local gentry almost every Friday at noon.
As a widower who doesn’t like cooking for one person and gets tired of fast food, I can really appreciate homemade meals served by happy faces who do it all from scratch. Homemade soups and sandwiches, turkey dinners, flavor-filled casseroles, and fudge cake/ice cream were some of the many Yankee offerings that put sunshine in everybody’s day as they gulped down the local news.
Hats off to Ann Evans, Joan Ludlow, Margo Hope and Genevieve Mosher for your generous giving of time and resources for over two years. Although these wonderful folks have said goodbye, I am hoping some other valiant lovers of their community and making homemade delicious food will appear.
Thank you, Weymouth House, from the depths of my heart.
