To the Editor:
Last night (May 7) the Nobleboro Central School PTO hosted its Second Annual Nobleboro Nonsense Fundraiser. For those who have never attended a similar event, it is a silent raffle where tickets are purchased and placed in containers that correspond to prizes (similar to a silent auction).
Local families, businesses and individuals donated all the prizes. Additionally each grade level at NCS puts together a theme basket, which was also raffled off. The NPTO volunteers spent hours prepping and cooking enough food to serve the over 250 people who attended this year’s event.
In addition to raising over $2200 this year for activities for the students, the event is one of those things that make our community such a great place to live. When you get to see neighbors from eight months old to 80 plus having a great time, enjoying food, fun and fellowship it makes you realize that we have something very special.
I would personally like to thank all the volunteers, sponsors, those that donated, teachers, students, NCS staff and most importantly the parents and members of the community who came out to support our school. Great job.
