To the Editor:
The Great Salt Bay Community School held its annual Harvest Fair last Saturday (Oct. 30), and it seems to have been a wonderful success. As the parent of an eighth grader who directly benefits from this fundraiser, I’d like to thank everyone involved in the process of pulling the Fair together.
I served on the silent auction committee, and was overwhelmed by the kind support of all the regional businesses who helped out. These are folks who are constantly inundated with requests for donations, yet continue to give generously to the best of their abilities.
I urge all to continue to show your support for them and shop locally whenever possible. My co-committee members Cathy Jones and Kim Erskine did a fantastic job and were most pleasant companions. Perhaps most of all, I’d like to acknowledge the amazing dedication and involvement of the 8th Grade teachers at Great Salt Bay. I feel lucky indeed to share this community with all of you.
