To the Editor:
The Bremen Conservation Commission (BCC) would like to thank everyone who participated in their recent sale of Compost Bins. The sale was coordinated by the BCC to raise awareness of Earth Day and the response was above and beyond expectations. In all, 140 compost bins were sold to individuals from nearly every town in Lincoln County!
Thank-you to BCC member Diane O’Connor for undertaking the event with additional thanks to Town Clerk Joanne McGregor and Assistant Town Clerk Martha Varsano for volunteering their time in helping field calls and assisting in coordinating the orders. Thanks also to the LCN and reporter John Maguire whose April 23 article doubled our sales.
Those who purchased the bins should pick them up May 23 in the parking lot next to the Bremen Fire Station from 8 am – noon.
For those disappointed that they didn’t get a compost bin, there is one last opportunity. One bin will be offered as an auction item at the Bremen Fire Department/Patriotic Club Dinner Auction on June 7 at the Bremen Fire Station.
Happy composting!
Dennis Prior, Chairman,
Bremen Conservation Commission
