To the Editor:
On Thursday June 29, I was honored with recognition from the Twin Village Downtown Alliance with their first annual Downtown Spirit Award.
I am overwhelmed with pride to know that the hard work of myself and the crew at Colby & Gale Service Station is such an important part of the downtown area.
I am honored to accept this award and would like to thank the TVDA for this recognition. It also needs to be said that I cannot do this alone.
It is important in life to surround yourself with supportive people and I have been blessed with this in my family, friends, coworkers and customers. I owe a debt of gratitude to all of the people who have influenced me and made my job a pleasurable one.
Working for Colby & Gale has been such a positive experience for me and I have learned and grown much in the past 16 years.
Much thanks goes to Robert Clifford and Verne Verney for instilling a deep sense of community in this company and myself. I truly enjoy my job, the people I work with and the customers we take care off.
I believe that the downtown area is alive and vibrant and I am grateful to be a part of this community. I am blessed to have deep roots in the Damariscotta area and my wife and I couldn’t imagine raising our girls elsewhere.
