To the Editor:
As I get ready to begin my retirement from education, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the wonderful people of MSAD/RSU 40.
Before I do, I want to clarify what has been reported in some news stories. I have retired from the field of education. I did not resign, nor should my retirement be seen as some indication of some systemic problem.
I have been blessed to live in this community for most of the last 29 years. While I had great experiences and met fantastic people in SAD 50 and 70, this is home. It has been a privilege to be a teacher and administrator here. The students are, almost without exception, hard working, respectful and appreciative of efforts on their behalf. The parents I have worked with want our best in serving their children and they have been most gracious and supportive.
Finally, it has been my pleasure to work with gifted and tireless educators throughout my career who have inspired me over the past 30 years. The Medomak Middle School staff puts middle school students first everyday, bringing honor to our district.
At this point, I would like to thank the many thoughtful folks who have sent me cards or stopped me on the street to wish me well. I am looking forward to the next phase of my working life, but I will sincerely miss the young people who kept me loving my job and making me smile since 1982.
Finally, I would like to personally thank Bob England, Candy Powell and Jenni Brooks for their professionalism, excellence, and friendship over the past eight years. I could not imagine working with a better office team during this first five years of Medomak Middle School.
