To the Editor:
I write in support of Jon McKane’s District 51 candidacy for the Maine House of Representatives.
While many politicians pontificate about transparency in government but fail to deliver, Jon is an exemplary communicator. In addition to a regular e-mail newsletter and periodic mailings, he authors numerous commentaries on topical subjects for state and local newspapers and is readily accessible to constituents by telephone as well.
Currently completing a third term in Augusta, Jon has brought energy and openness to the office. The value of seniority will give District 51 a high profile in a reconstituted House, and his voice of reason deserves to be heard again as the legislature grapples with challenging fiscal and social responsibilities.
