To the editor:
The dedication and grand opening of the new Zimmerli Pavilion at St. Andrews Village on June 24 was a wonderful event. My sincere and heartfelt thanks go out to the anonymous donors, the community organizations who supported the project, and the many individuals whose dedication and hard work made the Zimmerli Pavilion a reality.
Named in memory of our dear friend, trustee, and community leader Rev. Dr. Mary Jo Zimmerli, this state-of-the-art skilled rehabilitation center is just the latest in a series of programs and facilities our trustees and clinical leaders believe the Boothbay region community needs and will use.
The expansion of the wellness/rehab department, the opening of the wound care center, the remodeling and expansion of the urgent care center and infusion room, and the opening of the Coulombe Center for Health Improvement are testaments to the vision of the current and past LincolnHealth board and physician leadership and the generosity of the community.
These facilities are not just ideas or hollow promises, they are high-quality, award-winning investments in the community; investments you can touch with your hand.
Mary Jo Zimmerli had a passion for improving the quality and accessibility of all levels of senior living, and the pavilion is a testament to and constant reminder of her passion. While we will continue investing in the Boothbay region to meet our mission, we can’t do it without your input and your passion.
If you have any interest in community wellness or health care services, please consider joining our monthly St. Andrews Community Committee.
