To the Editor:
I was driving past Puffin Stop on Saturday, and noticed gas went from $2.81 to $2.89 a gallon, up eight-cents over night.
Later that same day, driving by the Irving Station in Wiscasset, I noticed gas went from $2.74 to $2.65, a drop of nine-cents over night.
Also, I read in the Portland Press, the average price of gas in the state is $2.69.
Am I the only person that thinks Damariscotta is getting hosed here? I for one will not buy gas in Damariscotta other than at Colby & Gale (a full-service station).
So much for “buy locally.” Holy rip-off.
