I decided to come up to my house at Pemaquid Beach to ride out Nemo because the first forecasts were for less snow than Boston. Boy, am I glad I did. Apart from the adventure of the howling storm and the snow piling up and up – I was grateful that the electricity held.
Kudos to Central Maine Power! All that tree-trimming work of the last two years really paid off with no loss of power on the peninsula! That is impressive – especially given the outages further south.
I am sitting at the Maine Bookstore Cafe catching up on emails admiring the clear dry Main Street in Damariscotta. Another great job of snow clearing. This is the way winter ought to be.
