To the editor:
We hope you’ve heard by now that the Olde Bristol Days parade is happening. We’re currently looking for your involvement. Do you have a business that you’d love to promote? Are you a family or neighborhood who’d love to create memories for your kids that they’ll remember for years to come? Are you one of our “summah” people who want to join in on the fun?
We want to talk to you! Decorate your work truck, throw some streamers on your SUV, hook up your hatchback and come join the parade. Decorations can be simple or elaborate (most people decorate the morning of the parade). A vehicle is not necessary; walkers are welcome.
We’re also bringing back the bike brigade. Kids can bring their bikes to the Methodist Church on New Harbor Hill at 9 a.m. on parade day to decorate their bikes (free decorating materials provided or use your own) and ride them in the parade. A parent chaperone (on bike) is required for kids under the age of 10. Parents can decorate their bikes too. Helmets are suggested.
Please consider reaching out to us and getting signed up for the parade. We just want you to have fun and show your love for Olde Bristol Days. The parade takes place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11. The parade starts at The Harbor Room in New Harbor and ends at Colonial Pemaquid. Please contact one of us so we can help you, your group, or business get signed up for the parade. Hope you’ll join us for the parade, even as a spectator!
