To the Editor:
As a veteran of the Vietnam War, I was very upset last Thursday that I found an American Flag in the garbage can at Mike’s Place in Newcastle on Route 1. Whoever threw this flag away has no respect for our country.
I took it out of the garbage can and will take it to the American Legion in Damariscotta where I am a member and where it will be disposed of properly. Any used or tattered flag can be left at the legion in a mailbox specifically for all flags.
