To the Editor:
Healthy Kids had a full house at Skidompha Library Saturday night for the 8th Annual Chocolate Fest. It was a great success, thanks to all the donors, volunteers, and guests who came out to have a good time while supporting a good cause.
We would like to extend special thanks to our major sponsors Stars Fine Jewelry and Bath Savings Institute for their great generosity. Don’t forget to stop by Stars and get your pearls strung on a sterling silver chain.
Thank you to Rick and Jean and the Damariscotta River Grill for the champagne, calm and experienced organizational help, and super bar service; to Gary Stone and Camden National Bank for bringing us the cool jazz of Barney Balch and friends. The music was perfect.
Thank you to Don Carrigan for being our capable emcee again; to Skidompha Library for hosting us for the eighth year; to Cottage Gardens for helping us transform the library with their beautiful flowers and statuary and to all the restaurants in town who gave ticket holders a discount for dinner that evening as well as baking delectable treats for us.
Chocolate Fest is all about chocolate and our chocolate donors outdid themselves this year. Thank you all so much for crafting such an array of delicacies.
Those of you there Saturday evening were served by a crew of very charming and very energetic young people. We had an army of community volunteers behind the scenes who helped make this event possible and we appreciate all your help.
Finally, thanks to all of you who came and bid on auction items or made donations. Your support goes a long way to help the children and families of Lincoln County through Healthy Kids’ programs.
A couple housekeeping details: There are many serving platters and trays at the library to be picked up. They are stacked in the auditorium.
If you were the highest bidder on auction items and still need to pick them up, everything is at the Healthy Kids! office on Elm Street. You will receive a call this week notifying you of winning bids.
