To the Editor:
You couldn’t have found a more diverse group anywhere in Lincoln County on New Year’s Eve than at Lincoln Theater. From young to older, experienced dancer to just watcher, everyone had a wonderful time. The music was varied, the lighting beautiful and fun was the rule of the night.
One young man was a particular standout as an example of the graciousness many of us were taught as children. He danced with ladies considerably his elder with charm and actually knew how to dance with a lady. He also appeared to be thoroughly enjoying the evening. Please consider bringing your families to enjoy the festivities next year.
Lincoln Theater has been home to many wonderful events over its long history. My own mother, Ruth Haley Busby, walked down from Lincoln Academy to graduate there. Her autograph is on a back wall in the dressing area.
Take some time to stop in for a visit and see an integral part of our local history, catch a play or a movie and next New Year’s Eve, come back for a turn on the dance floor under starry trees with a loved one.
