To the Editor:
I’m sure that all gardeners and lovers of flowers- and surely there’s no one who doesn’t belong to at least one of those groups- are as sad as I am to see the “For Sale” sign in front of Cottage Gardens.
Choice garden plants, beautiful floral arrangements, “house plants,” that take us to far away places, and reliable advice from Russell and his staff have made Cottage Gardens such an important part of our community.
I especially loved going into the warmth of the conservatory hothouse in late winter to lift my spirits among blooming cyclamen, the first little daffodils, some fragrant orchids.
Students from GSB School will miss their annual trips to Cottage Gardens where they could learn about the difference between annuals and perennials, and about the myriad plants “from away” that we can enjoy in our homes.
Thank you Russell and crew- and best wishes!
