To the Editor:
For a moderate Democrat like me, or for a Republican or Independent who thinks we need to change the culture of Augusta, the choice is now very clear.
Only Eliot Cutler has shown that he has the temperament, good sense – and simple lack of extreme or angry views – to run the three billion dollar enterprise that is the State of Maine. Cutler has thought through how he would actually get things done responsibly – governing from the middle and without allegiance to any special interest.
Every poll shows that Libby Mitchell has not inspired enough voters to win the race. Not a single newspaper has found her worthy to endorse. Her campaign of shop-worn ideas from the past and desperate negative attack ads are eroding her support with every passing day. She now sits as the spoiler who cannot win, but could give us four years of Governor Paul LePage.
Please consider that a vote for Libby Mitchell now equals a vote for Paul LePage. Voting for Eliot Cutler will give us reasoned change in Augusta. It’s the responsible thing to do.
