To the Editor:
Once again, it’s Palestine versus Israel, or shall we say Islam vs. Judaism.
In response to a commentary about U.N. involvement, my comment, “My people do not get involved in such things to begin with.”
They do not wage wars in the names of their gods and see any religious wars as utter insanity, solving and proving nothing. No belief, for my people, justifies killing others for it, causing them agonizing grief. If any belief is held above human happiness and life itself, then that belief must be discarded.
Time and time again people repeat the same phrase: “They’ve been fighting like this for thousands of years.” No one seems to notice that every child born in those countries is raised to continue the tradition via indoctrination. Culturally, only the weapons have changed.
