To the Editor:
My great grandson and I were in a terrible car accident last week on Main Street in Wiscasset. I lost my brakes coming down over the hill and ran into another vehicle. It was such a terrifying experience.
Although I am pretty sore and bruised and my great grandson, Bryan has a black eye, we are okay and I thank God for that. I have prayed for the other folks that were involved as well; I wish them a speedy recovery.
I would like to extend my thanks and sincere appreciation to the Wiscasset Police Department, the Wiscasset Ambulance Department, the staff at Midcoast Hospital and all the people on the scene who helped us, including the very wonderful and loving woman who held my hand and prayed for us. Although I don’t know your name, I hope this letter reaches you so you’ll know how much your kindness meant to me.
The outpouring of prayers, kind thoughts and well wishes from the community has been overwhelming and humbling. I am so blessed to be surrounded by my loving family and friends and to live in our wonderful town. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
