To the Editor:
I would like to thank all of the people that attended Neil’s celebration of life held on Oct. 18, 2014. I always knew that Neil was a kind and gentle man, but I was overwhelmed by all the people he touched, which was obvious by all the tributes, as well as people in attendance paying their respects.
The songs sung during the service were amazing. Pastor Wally Staples, thank you very much for your part in making the service special.
A special thank you goes out to those who and organized the food and cleaned up after the reception.
In regards to the pot luck supper that was held in my honor on November 8, 2014, I would like to thank Nita Greenleaf, Louise Speece and Joyce Spicer for organizing the event. I thank all the attendees and was truly touched by all the support.
My only regret is there was not a guest book available at the celebration of Neil’s life. Because of my sorrow, I was unable to see all the people in attendance and was told the church was full. I wasn’t thinking straight and wished I had had a record of the people in attendance. I have since purchased a book from the funeral home where there are pages for signatures of people attending the service.
I feel fortunate that some of the people that attended the supper also attended the service so I was able to obtain their signatures. If you were unable to attend the supper, but attended the service, I would appreciate it tremendously if you would contact me by phone (under Neil’s name in the phone book), or by a note sent to: Mona Greenleaf, 44 Cromwell Road, Westport Island, 04578.
