To the Editor:
A huge thank you is due to a generous woman who paid for a battery for my watch at Radio Shack. I had gone to John at Stars and he referred me to Radio Shack where the clerk could not undo the tiny screws. Back to John before he closed. He did get them out and kept them while back to Radio Shack I galloped.
As I went to pay for the battery, I discovered I had left my wallet in my car some distance away. The lady in back of me handed the clerk her credit card and said to add the battery to her purchase!
I got back to John’s just in time to give him the battery. He would take no money for his work so the next day I delivered two boxes of raspberries to him.
“Pay it forward” is still alive and active in our wonderful village thanks to an unknown lovely woman!
