To the Editor:
I have always been proud to be a Great Salt Bay parent, and have been singing the school’s praises for the eight years my children have been students there. Now the research backs up my parental enthusiasm.
Congratulations to the Great Salt Bay faculty and administration for the fabulous report (“Report Praises GSB in Every Category,” LCN September 22, 2011), which commends the excellent the faculty, administration, arts programs, individual attention to students, community involvement, and high performance assessments.
All this, and the faculty is paid on average $6000 less than faculty in surrounding areas. As a parent I am grateful, and as a taxpayer I think my money is well spent.
Best of all, my children are growing into educated, confident, responsible citizens in their local public school.
