Last week, a woman was in line at Renys with an expensive Christmas present in hand. For no particular reason other than it is apparently that time of the season, the gentleman in line in front of her, insisted on paying for her purchase himself.
The gentlemen fought off attempts to refuse his largesse and, with a figurative nod and wink and, laying a finger along side his nose, disappeared without giving his name.
This act of random kindness reduced our co-worker and the ladies behind the checkout counter who witnessed it to joyful tears, and it has been a topic of conversation here for some days as she has relived the moment.
Undoubtedly, it is the kind of Christmas memory that lives on year after year for the recipient and for those who witnessed it.
