To the Editor:
The Bridge House, the old store and dance hall, is an important piece of history in the village of South Bristol for both local and summer residents.
Each time one opens the door to the second floor to go up the stairs past the little ticket window you can feel generations of excited young people rushing up to the dance.
Then there is the third floor… who knows what promises to future lives together were made on those stairs?
How many fond memories of the store by the bridge?
Dianne Haas has put her life and soul into lovingly restoring the building to its original state, not to mention the upkeep. Take out her furniture and you have the store, the dance hall. How can the DOT even think of tearing it down?
Surely there can be some compromise here?
