To the Editor:
When you read a book, do you read just a sentence or two in a paragraph, selectively? Do you read just a paragraph or two from a chapter? I think not. More likely than not, you read the entire book, from prologue to epilogue. Why not pick up a Bible and read it from Genesis to Revelation? Everything is in there, from dog vomit to eternal salvation. Think of the myriad topics between those two extremes.
The Bible is riveting and life-changing. It is the all-time best selling book for a reason. I was influenced to read it cover to cover by Mr. Wayne Leroy Brown, who left this world on Jan. 10. I get something different from it each time I read it. It doesn’t change. The reader does. Surely, selective reading within the Bible moves you forward, but reading the whole book gets you to the “finish line” a winner.
