To the Editor:
Harold Benner will be missed.
On Thurs., June 4, a tragic, yet totally avoidable accident claimed the life of Harold Benner within a short distance of his home. He was driving responsibly, as he always did, and fell victim to someone driving on the wrong side of the Rt. 235, most likely at excessive speed.
I hope that with our sadness for the loss of a wonderful, kind, honorable man such as Harold Benner, we also share an outrage at the senselessness of his passing. I wish to remind everyone that high rates of speed don’t just endanger the driver and passengers in the speeding vehicle, but it can take the life of a totally innocent person. Take a moment to think of others.
The Harold I knew was always kind, helpful, loving, and what one would consider an all around good person. He never hesitated to lend a hand. He leaves behind a family that adored him and feels a giant void without him. My thoughts and prayers are with them.
