To the Editor:
So the superintendent of schools doesn’t understand why Bristol voters downed their school budget.
Did a lot of people feel “snookered?” Absolutely. Do a lot of people feel pre-K is an expensive babysitting program? Absolutely. Do a lot of people feel creating a program just to fill an empty classroom is wrong? Absolutely. Are a lot of people upset and insulted by a letter the board chairman sent to a selected few? Absolutely.
I am for one. I served on the school board, planning board, six years as selectman and am presently chairman of the appeals board. I resent being labeled an ignorant, disgruntled, undemocratic taxpayer because I voted against pre-K.
