To the Editor:
Some sage advice to all those deciding to run for office this year:
First: Man or woman, boy or girl, be sure to get your hair cut or styled.
Second: See a manicurist and get your nails done, top and bottom.
Third: Dress appropriately. A politician should always look smart.
Fourth: Be careful what you say and do as everyone is waiting for you to goof up. Choose your words carefully. They can bite back.
Fifth: Don’t be pretentious. Everybody can see if you are faking it.
The reason for this advice is to warn you that voters in Maine are just the same as voters everywhere. They carefully watch all the issues and then go in the booth and vote for the best looking candidate.
Now you understand why our country is so messed up.
