To the Editor:
Ever since Chris Johnson was elected to the Maine Senate, he has been unfairly criticized by people who refuse to understand his approach to governance. Almost weekly, there are inappropriate, inaccurate, and over the top attacks on Senator Johnson.
It’s a pity because we in Lincoln County needed change in Augusta: that’s precisely what Chris Johnson has delivered. In the last few years, our Lincoln County representatives in Augusta have only reiterated their party’s talking points but have taken very little time to listen.
Rather than telling us how to think, Senator Johnson listens closely to the issues and concerns of all of his constituents. He understands that the issues and problems we face are not Republican problems or Democratic problems, they are problems of all Mainers and we have to work together to find solutions.
I commend the work of Senator Johnson has done in Augusta and look forward to seeing him serve two more years when he is re-elected in November.
