To the Editor:
Once again it is my great privilege to thank and recognize the members of the Miles League and the St. Andrews Auxiliary for their dedication and hard work in support of our organizations.
Thanks to their herculean efforts staffing and operating thrift shops in both communities, the Miles Gift Shop, and other fundraising efforts, we’ve received much-needed funds to help us purchase our organizations’ top equipment priorities and support some of our programs and services.
As a not-for-profit organization, trustees and management are constantly reviewing and budgeting our finances to make the best use of our limited resources. The auxiliary and league, along with the many individuals who donated and purchased items, help us provide the very best care for the community.
With this year’s combined donations of more than $158,000, we will purchase medical equipment such as a portable ultrasound unit for our emergency department, and update equipment at the urgent care center, Lincoln Medical Partners practices, and Miles & St. Andrews Home Health & Hospice.
The league and auxiliary are also supporting the Lincoln County Healthcare/Central Maine Community College Nursing School and the Tufts University/Maine Medical Center medical school program which will bring medical students to Lincoln County as part of their clinical training.
On behalf of the trustees, administration, medical staff, and employees of Lincoln County Healthcare, please accept my most sincere and heartfelt thanks. Your steadfast work and devotion to the health care needs of the community made all of this possible.
Happy holidays, and best wishes to you all for a happy and healthy new year.
