To the Editor:
I want to thank District 51 Rep. Jon McKane (R-Newcastle) for standing up for businesses in Maine. Jon is co-chair of the Joint Select Committee on Regulatory Fairness and Reform. He understands real jobs are created in the private sector, not by government. Local businesses are the heart of our state economy providing much needed jobs for citizens.
Jon realizes Maine people want jobs not handouts. Having a vibrant and healthy private sector is the best way to get Maine people back to work.
While some in Augusta appear to have forgotten how vital the private sector is, Jon has not forgotten. In fact, Rep. McKane’s strong pro-business voting record has earned him a high rating by the Maine Economic Research Institute. I encourage Jon to continue standing up for businesses so we can get Maine back to work.
