To the Editor:
We’re off to a great start with thousands of homes without power due to our first winter storm of the year. Hats off to Central Maine Power crews for doing the very best job they could restoring power.
My area was without power for three and half days. It was my understanding the tree trimming that has been going on for the last two years was to help eliminate power outages. It looks as if it was money wasted.
Trimming trees should help to eliminate power outages, however, Central Maine Power crews are still being called in to put power lines back up to restore our power. Just cutting tree branches from our trees isn’t working. It seems that management should evaluate the trees before cutting is started.
I live on Duck Puddle Road and it seems every time the wind blows a little stronger than 30 miles an hour, we most likely will loss our power. I guess this is going to be the norm as long as I live in Maine during the winter.
Good job Central Maine Power crews!
