To the Editor:
On behalf of the residents of Hodgdon Green, a senior assisted living facility in Damariscotta, I would like to thank the many people who have already purchased a 2009-10 “Warm Hearts” coupon book.
Now in its second year, the coupon book provides discounts to 39 area businesses–from restaurants to groceries, hardware, sports and entertainment, and more–discounts totaling approximately $200. More importantly, however, sales of the book provide funding for a variety of activities and services for the 16 residents at Hodgdon Green, ensuring that they maintain a high quality of life during the winter months.
During this time of tight budgets, the coupons can help stretch your dollars while at the same time helping local businesses maintain a strong customer base during the winter months. Not only are they a good value, but they make wonderful stocking stuffers.
For those individuals who have not purchased a book but would like to, the Friends of Hodgdon Green will be selling books during the Holiday Festival, Wed., Dec. 23.
I hope you will stop by our table during the Holiday Festival to talk about the activities our seniors are enjoying thanks to your purchase of a coupon book. We all–the staff and residents and their families–thank you for your warm heart.
